It's been a great journey of 8 weeks or more to our Cohorts studying and applying Discipleship Uncomplicated Principles.   In the comment below,  please share what unique stories have transpired.  For example, your experience while praying for someone or what happened when you shared a "story"?   How about share how you personified or applied "doing good" to someone?  Thank you for participating.

  1. Bronik is one of the people i've been praying for and he is included in my reach list. One day, he was walking on the side of the road. I normally would just pass him by. But after session 4, I was reminded to do something good. I pulled over and asked if he needed a ride. He actually lives across my house street. After we got home, Bronik and I got to talk for another 30 minutes. And I got to pray for him at the end of our chat. Continue to pray for Bronik that he would make a conscious choice to move away from his peers and stop being influenced by them.

  2. I met with my tenants in June to do a lease turnover. Tony is a big Navy man, courteous and neat. Many transition is happening to him. The biggest one is perhaps bringing his 4-year old daughter Harper from the East Coast to raise her on the islands. Knowing his heavy burdens, I laid my hand on his shoulder and prayed with him. After he said Amen, he gave me a big hug with slightly teary eyes. Tori is Tony's girlfriend. She is a responsible young adult who just got promoted to restaurant manager. Her grandmother passed away in the middle of her move. She was heartbroken while trying to pull things together for her family, especially her mom who was devastated. I prayed with her one-on-one asking for God to comfort her and her family. Jay is my third tenant, a young Navy who moved out because the Navy relocated him. I didn't get to say goodbye to him in person. He texted me one day and thanked me for letting him stay at my apartment. I texted him a prayer with the 3 P's and was encouraged by his immediate positive feedback. Tony, Tori and Jay are on my reach list.

  3. I met Mita online, and as we talked more and more, she opened up and shared her struggles. She lives in Ethiopia and is burdened with many restrictions, barely being able to step out of her house other than to go to school. With the war, there is also a lot of unrest, hurt and negativity going around. Though unable to do so in-person, I sent my prayers to her and continue to encourage her and pray that she will find hope in Jesus.

  4. Annie and I met a homeless lady, Diana, lied down on the sidewalk outside our building's parking entrance. We got off the car and checked if she's okay. Then I looked for police officers to provide help to her: shelter or ambulance. No luck. Went back only found that Annie was already walking with Diana to the nearby building convenience store to get water and ice cream. After we gave Diana the bottle water and ice cream, we held hands, prayed for and prayed with Diana for her physical and spiritual health. Briefly remembered that she said she needed rest and would continue her journey to Kaimuki for personal errand. Said goodbye and parted our ways. Something I haven't done before and don't know how I summoned enough courage and did it. When I am writing about this I can still feel her long finger nails when we held hands to pray.

  5. It has been my prayers and mission since last Nov/Dec to be a blessing for my cousins, aunties, uncles and of course my stepfather. Not a blessing to bring them wealth, which I don't know how, but to demonstrate the love of Christ and the Gospel through my interaction with them. DU has been a great tool and “motivator”. When Selina and I offered to pray with my cousin after Sunday Worship while she was ready to hop on her car, we felt the genuinity and power from the Lord. She was touched by the Holy Spirit as we could tell, and she said she had a great experience worshipping God. Although her job still keeps her busy over the weekend, the experience we shared, I am sure, was the beginning of her faith journey. Amen.

  6. I had the opportunity to pray for my therapist Alyssa, after my session was finished. She told me that she wouldn’t be in the office for a couple days to help her older friend with pregnancy. I saw an opportunity and asked if I could pray for her and the friend. It was positive. She was thankful for my prayer.
