  1. P.14 reminds me that building relationships with others and expressing genuine care to one another with actions to bring Jesus to them is what our priority must be. Don’t go off tangent or miss the target by focusing on things that are not practically bringing people to experience Jesus.

  2. Our cohort has 2 questions for Dr. Haynes:
    1) Nowadays phone calls and video chats are so common. Can we add people who do not live here but we contact regularly, or do we only add names of people who live in Honolulu?
    2) We all know people who are believers but are not walking with Jesus. Should we add those people to our reach list?

    1. My take for:
      1) Yes. Proximity is not limited to geographical proximity.
      2) Yes. Believers not walking with Jesus = Pharisees.

  4. Transitioning from the great commandment to the great commission, "What's Your Name?" is about knowing your specific, not just general, targets for disciples making. There is a saying "People will forget what you said. People will forget what you did. But people will never forget how you made them feel". Addressing people by their names also gives a deja vu feeling that make people open up to what we are going to say about His word. This is one of the tools we can use to bring His people to Him.
But wait. Bring people to Jesus or bring Jesus to people? Is there a difference? I think I may have an answer. Disciples = Followers of Christ. Though God seeks us first, we still have to walk to Him to repent our sin, to accept His grace and to follow Him. It's a journey. In a journey direction is more important than speed. Peter.
